Will I still be able to turn my head?

Yes — that's the whole point. It isn't a collar. It's a thin elastic tape that supports the muscles carrying your head, so you keep your full range of movement. Nothing goes around your throat and nothing holds your head in one position.
Do I need someone to help me put it on?

Honestly: yes, for this one it takes a second pair of hands. The wide band runs across both shoulders and down the back of your neck — you can't see it, and you can't smooth it down flat behind you. Someone else places it in about a minute, and there's nothing for them to learn: the shape is already cut, they just peel and lay it down. Will it show above my collar?
